Tree planting in Varybompi and Kozani, reforestation in North Evia and environmental training in 10 schools.
The environmental and educational activities of We4all are supported by PPC, by sponsoring actions of tree planting, reforestation and education of students on environmental issues, with the active participation of the company’s employees.
In the framework of the cooperation between we4all and PPC, specific actions have already been implemented throughout Greece.
In Varybombi, a tree planting was implemented in a part of a burnt area, in cooperation with the Municipality of Acharnon, while the tree planting that took place in the Petranon community of the Municipality of Kozani involved also pupils of the Primary School and Kindergarten of the local community. PPC employees also participated in the tree planting.
In northern Evia, as part of the reforestation and education programme in disaster-affected areas, PPC and we4all ensured the planting of 2,500 olive trees, which will effectively help farmers affected by the fires. This reforestation is a part of the overall strategic framework of support for the areas of northern Evia, affected by the devastating fires, implemented by PPC.
Investing in the dynamics and action of tomorrow’s active citizens, PPC also supports we4all’s “Green Future” educational programme for sustainability awareness, through which educational programmes have been implemented in primary schools. Children were introduced to terms such as environment, climate change, recycling and volunteering and learned that the concepts of responsible citizenship and respect for the environment are complementary.
